RESUMO

A Cosan vem desde 1936 ganhando o mercado; dedicou-se nos 50 primeiros anos aos seus ativos agrícolas e industriais, no que diz respeito á produção de açúcar e etanol.

A partir de 1986, a companhia deu início à estratégia que segue com sucesso até hoje: crescimento e diversificação por meio de negócios e aquisições que ofereçam oportunidades de ganho de sinergias.

Com 23 unidades produtoras, sendo 21 em São Paulo e duas em construção, uma na cidade de Jataí (GO) e outra em Caarapó (MS), quatro refinarias e dois terminais portuários. Por meio da Cosan Combustíveis e Lubrificantes, detentora de licença de uso das marcas Esso e Mobil, a Companhia tornou-se a única empresa totalmente integrada do setor.

Hoje, está presente na aquisição de terras, no plantio, processamento da cana-de-açúcar, na distribuição de combustíveis, na venda de açúcar ao consumidor final e no transporte, além da produção e comercialização de lubrificantes. É a primeira empresa global de bioenergia totalmente verticalizada.

Os negócios do grupo Cosan são divididos em cinco empresas: Cosan Alimentos, Cosan Lubrificantes, Radar, Rumo Logístico e Raízen.

ABSTRACT

Cosan is gaining market since 1936, has dedicated itself in the first 50 years of their agricultural and industrial assets, with regard to the production of sugar and ethanol.

Since 1986, the company launched the strategy that follows successfully today: grow and diversify through business acquisitions and providing opportunities to gain synergies.

With 23 production units, 21 in São Paulo and two under construction, one in the city of Jatahy (GO) and another in Caarapó (MS), four refineries and two port terminals. Through Cosan Fuels and Lubricants license holder to use the Esso and Mobil brands, the Company became the only fully integrated company in the industry.

Today, it is present in land acquisition, in planting, processing of cane sugar, fuel distribution, the sale of sugar to the final consumer and transport, besides the production and marketing of lubricants. It is the first global bioenergy entirely vertical.

The business group Cosan are divided into five companies: Food Cosan, Cosan Lubricants, Radar, Towards Logistics and Raizen.
