INDICADORES DE SAÚDE E O PAPEL DO TIRO DE GUERRA E DA ESCOLA DE INSTRUÇÃO MILITAR NAS MICRORREGIÕES DE VALENÇA E IGRAPIÚNA NO BAIXO SUL DA BAHIA

Resumo. A saúde é por si somente um valor inquestionável de qualquer segmento social, e os indicadores de saúde são uma tentativa de mensurar a complexidade do tema além de possibilitarem a representação, por exemplo, da taxa de mortalidade de determinado grupo. A Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) define a saúde como “um estado de completo bem-estar físico, mental e social e não somente ausência de afecções e enfermidades.” Os municípios de Valença e Igrapiúna, pertencentes à microrregião do Baixo Sul da Bahia, possuem respectivamente o Tiro de Guerra e a Escola de Instrução Militar. Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar o papel desses órgãos em relação à saúde de seus integrantes assim como o seu papel nos indicadores de saúde da comunidade em que se inserem.  Os métodos utilizados consistiram de uma fundamentação baseada num levantamento bibliográfico e eletrônico, onde foram utilizados artigos, manuais e anuários locais para que os dados obtidos pudessem ser contrastados. Além disso, foi realizada uma avaliação qualitativa in locus por meio de um questionário com 05 questões destinadas aos atiradores e aos alunos-recrutas integrantes do Tiro de Guerra de Valença e da Escola de Instrução Militar de Igrapiúna respectivamente e de entrevistas com os respectivos secretários de saúde. Adquiriram-se informações relevantes acerca da situação da saúde e o papel das instituições militares nos referidos municípios. A presença do Tiro de Guerra na região contribuiu para a diminuição da violência, da criminalidade e do tráfico de drogas. As referidas instituições militares têm contribuído para a promoção, prevenção e manutenção da saúde dos militares que os compõem, além de permitirem que uma parcela de jovens da comunidade preste anualmente o serviço militar obrigatório sem se deslocarem de suas regiões de origem.

Abstract. Health is itself only one unquestionable value of any social segment, and health indicators are an attempt to measure the complexity of the subject they enable representation, for example, the mortality rate of any group. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as "a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely absence of disease and infirmity." Municipalities of Valencia and Igrapiúna, belonging to the micro-region of Southern Bahia , have respectively “ The Shot of War” and the School of Military Instruction. This article aims to analyze the role of these bodies in relation to the health of its members as well as their role in the health indicators of the community in which they operate. The methods used consisted of a foundation based on a literature review and electronic, which were used articles, manuals and yearbooks locations so that data could be contrasted. In addition, we performed a qualitative assessment in locus through a questionnaire with 05 questions designed to shooters and recruits students-members of Shooting War of Valencia and the Igrapiúna’s School of Military Instruction respectively and interviews with their secretaries health. Were acquired relevant information on the health situation and the role of the military in those counties. The presence of “Shot of War” in the region contributed to the reduction of violence, crime and drug trafficking. These military institutions have contributed to the promotion, prevention and health maintenance of the military that compose them, and allowing a portion of youth in the community pay annually conscription without travel from their home regions.
