The writer is a young man who is deeply in love
To prove his love he declares to her endless love/ forever
He has an image that she is perfect and delicate like a flower that has just blossomed
The girl must be young
He is enjoying the sensation of being in love
He compares her to a smooth song, also very delicate
He is in a place very distant from her
He is travelling with no time to return
The writer is not returning to her, because the use of the word “Even”
Best version of the poem? With the farewell. Why? Describe.
Thesis for this essay (3-4 paragraphs)
Stanza (paragraph in music and poem)
The poem Red, red rose has two versions
Structure:
Hook - Make a statement about love and poetry, surprising bold. Theres no such thing as true love. Have to be based on the theme.
Introduction – Summarize the poem
Thesis – The main point (Choose which poem is better- this version is better because), directly answer the question (I like the first version because its more romantic and makes you happy),
First main point: (One paragraph)
Despite his promises of an endless love, the writer is uncertain when he is returning to his love. We can infer this because Burns writes in line 14: “So farewell for a while!” The meaning of the world “while” does not state a definitive period of time, it gives the impression that there is a great interval between his departure and his return to her, contrasting with his vows to comeback for her in line 13: “But I will come again, my love”
Conclusion – Summarize, end generally (some people thinks is better the firsts version because of X, but I think the second one is better still/ OR / Give previsions: I hope he gets back)
