RESUMO

A educação à distância surgiu da necessidade do preparo profissional e cultural de diversas pessoas que precisavam se aperfeiçoar e não tinha condições de se fazer um ensino pelo método tradicional, buscando então, metodologias à distância. Os primeiros cursos oferecidos nessa modalidade foram por correspondência, passando por via rádio, televisão, computador até chegar à Internet. O avanço da Internet e das mídias interativas proporcionou grande evolução no ensino. Diante disso, o presente artigo objetiva definir a educação à distância, no Brasil, demostrar o que é Educação à Distância e abordar sua historia, os temas sobre educação à distância, que serão: Definição sobre Educação à distância, Regulamentação, Avaliação nos cursos à distância, o perfil do aluno na Educação à distância, as limitações do ensino à distância, o panorama do ensino à distância no Brasil e os desafios de ensinar. Neste sentido percebe-se a evolução da modalidade à distância em todo pais.

Atender 600 mil alunos em cursos de graduação e especialização a distância até 2014 é a meta do programa Universidade Aberta do Brasil (UAB). Criado em 2005 para impulsionar o número de estudantes matriculados no ensino superior, o projeto de educação a distância mantido pelo governo federal ainda está longe da meta. Desde 2007, quando as primeiras turmas começaram de fato suas aulas, 35 mil se formaram e há 220 mil alunos matriculados.

ABSTRACT

Distance education arose from the need of professional preparation and culture of various people who needed to improve and was unable to make a traditional teaching method, then seeking, methodologies distance. The first courses offered in this mode was by correspondence, through radio, television, computer to get internet. The advancement of the Internet and interactive media gave great progress in education. Therefore, this study aims to define distance education in Brazil, demonstrate what is distance education and addressing its history, themes of distance education, which are: Definition of Distance Education, Regulation, Assessment courses in the distance, the profile of students in distance education, the limitations of distance learning, the landscape of distance learning in Brazil and the challenges of teaching. In this sense we can see the evolution of distance mode for all parents.

Answering 600 000 students in undergraduate and specialization away by 2014 is the goal of the program Open University of Brazil (UAB). Created in 2005 to boost the number of students enrolled in higher education, the design of distance education maintained by the federal government is still far from the goal. Since 2007, when the first groups actually began their classes, 35 000 were formed and there are 220 000 students enrolled.
