Statement of Purpose

Born in a third world country gave me the opportunity to see and feel in reality what is happening when the basic human rights are not considered as one of the priorities in politics. Everyday people are confronted with  the biggest problems we have in today´s world.

We dont have a declared war like in the Syria or Iraq, but everyday thousands of Brazilians die shotted by criminals or police men, in one war that the world and main governants want to hide under the carpet. Brazil is the second country in the world exporting meat, rise and other foods worldwide, however the reality within our country is that a lot of brazilians cant even afford one meal a day. This is not happening in little cities, but the reality in the big and WONDERFUL cities like Rio de Janeiro, the postcard of my country. There are not a lot of differences between Brazil and the African countries we see facing poverty in the TV.

What about the children who are abused every day by adults, missed people that dissapear without reason every second here in Brazil? But our image wordlwide is that we are the happiest country of the world: carnaval, samba, beaches, beautiful nature, beautiful women and sun almost all year.

I am not blind. And i cant see this happiness. I want to change this situation, because under these circumstances, Brazil is not the kind of country I want to live in. I want to live in one country where people have real happiness instead of momentaneous happiness.

The security that our children will come home after school, have food to eat, the parents will have work and the governants will not forget what they said one minute after being elected and the constitucional principles start to be the base for al it.

I know that it will not change tomorrow, but as a law student i learned that the society was built by people who didnt wait pacientely, but, in contrary fought for a better world for themselves and the next generations. Thats my intention and the reason why i am applying for this course. Sure I will give all my power to learn as much as I can, try to apply the theory in pratice in my country and perhaps the most important thing, exchange information and experiences with people  around the world.
