In 1832 Charles Carroll the last living signer of the Declaration of Independence, was also a member of a secret society called Massons . He was about to die so I asked to take him to the White House to speak with Andrew Jackson ( president ) , but as the president was not there one person told the possible Thomas Gates , the grandfather of the grandfather of Ben Gates ( main character ) .
The secret is that there is a treasure that has been played for centuries by tyrants , pharaohs , emperors , warlords when the treasure passed from hand to hand was getting richer , but one day the treasure disappeared and only reappeared 1000 years later , who descubriu the treasure and took it to Europe , the Templars found the treasure was more valuable to one person only . During the following century Massons transported the treasure out of Europe . At the time of the American Revolution the treasure was hidden by Massons ( Benjamin Franklin , George Washignton , Paul Revere ) . To be sure they would not discover the treasure clues and maps created that over time were forgetting and losing only one remaining , it was the secret that Charles Carroll entrusted to Thomas Gates .
