Throughout geological history of the Earth, we have seen a lot of changes in weather patterns. Weather follows natural cycles diversifying hot and cold in regular time. Today we are passing through for a warm period. Human activity and over population are intensifying the problem: storms, hurricanes, cyclones and sea level rising even more occur frequently and then causes can be related to those activities.

The record of past temperatures is characterized by “cycles of glacial and interglacial within a gradually deepening ice age”. These variations show that the global warming is an effect expected and predicted for geologists and scientists. The actual temperature can be just a hot period of the cycle and effects like melt ice cape, sea levels rising, hot temperatures, storms and hurricanes are geologically temporary (Sigman 2014).

Although this is natural, some human acts are increasing bad consequences for environmental. Day by day, the world population is growing faster and with more consumerist people in the world. Seitz & Hite (2013) estimate an explosion demographic that can follow an exponential increasing model and this indicate more consumerism so more pollution, more resources exploitation, more food produce and more environmental damage because for produce food, electronics, energy, etc. some impacts come together like greenhouse gases production, CFC’s gases (destroyer the ozone layer), forest devastations, intensive mining. Around the world people do not really care about the effect their consumerism cause in the Earth and recycling, reuse and reduce are unusually practices and one question they cannot answer: Until when will natural resources be enough?

Another problem that increasing the dangers of global warming is “ensuring unsustainable development” (Academic English and Study Skills Bridging Course – Course book 1, 2014) that countries around the world are using natural resources without care with environment. Pollution, energy production, agriculture, etc. emits huge quantities of CO2 in atmosphere, impact soil and water sources and cause severe damages to ozone layer contributing to greenhouse effect and consequently global warming.

Above it all, the biggest problem is the emission of greenhouse gases coming from energy production. Seitz & Hite say “Eventually all nations, including the US, will have to agree to reductions in greenhouse gas emission well beyond those indicated in the Kyoto treaty if there is any possibility of stabilizing atmospheric CO2 concentrations at even two or three times preindustrial level” and if this not happen the consequences will be unpredictable.

One of the possible consequences of all those acts is the sea level is rising. According Seitz & Hite “A probable effect of a warming of earth’s climate is the level of the oceans will rise between 0.18 to 0.59 meters”. Coastal regions have a lot of big cities around the world and this problem can cause disappearing of these cities forcing millions of people to move for other places. In this areas, for now, “during storms when high sea surges hitting the coasts cause very destructive floods” (Seitz & Hite, 2014).

Another effect of global warming can cause for life is the extreme weather, day by day storms, hurricanes, places where the weather is very dry, etc. and according Seitz & Hite these situations are increasing and happening more frequently
