-        Press power button (Battery status of TTC400 will be displayed in right top corner)

-        Select on the TTC400 which transponder we are going to read

  • “transponder” and press enter (right arrow)
  • “Select transponder” and press enter (right arrow)
  • Select the corresponding serial # (up and down arrow) and press enter (right arrow)
  •  “interrogate” and press enter (right arrow)
  • You should get a “reply ok” back from the transponder if it is functioning. If no reply, check the serial # and the channel used.
  • Repeat “interrogate” and if still no response, proceed to changing out the battery

-        Read the used battery status.

  • “read battery status” and press enter (right arrow)
  • Select the corresponding TP model (up and down arrow to select TP model and press enter (left arrow)) Our TP model = 331
  • The reply will be:  used in  %  Rx:  % and Tx:  % (There is a Rx battery and a Tx battery)
  • Write down the Rx: % and the Tx: % in the status spreadsheet (old column)
  • Typical values would be Rx: 61 and the Tx: 41 Rx: 0 an Tx: 0 means nothing is used and the battery is completely new

-        Remove the old battery

  • Unscrew the 5 Allen Bolt screws holding the transducer
  • Pull out the transducer and the attached battery on the metal cage
  • Remove the tail release mechanism connector on the back of the battery
  • Place the transponder/battery unit on flat working surface
  • Remove the four nuts, which attach the battery to the transponder.
  • Pull the battery out and disconnect the connector

-        Install the new battery (wait 20 minutes before installing the new battery, the board has big capacitor in there, that will keep the memory energized) After this 20 minutes, the ping count will be reset.

  • Connect the connector, when first time connected you will hear three beeps from transponder, which is a healthy indication
  • Install the 4 washer and nuts
  • Use Silicon Grease on the rubber O-ring. This will help with sliding in and sealing out the moisture from the transponder/battery unit.
  • Slide the transponder/battery unit in the yellow tube after connecting the tail release mechanism connector. Be careful not to pinch any wiring while sliding the transponder/battery unit in to the yellow tube.
  • Reinstall the 6 Allen bolts

-        Read the new battery status.

  • “read battery status” and press enter (right arrow)
  • Select the corresponding TP model (up and down arrow to select TP model and press enter (left arrow)) Our TP model = 331. This should already be selected, from reading the old battery
  • The reply will be:  used in  %  Rx:  % and Tx:  % (There is a Rx battery and a Tx battery)
  • Write down the Rx: % and the Tx: % in the status spreadsheet (new column)
