O Ciclismo de Estrada

Ciclismo de Estrada compõe-se de provas longas e como o próprio nome diz, realizadas nas estradas. Uma prova, mesmo que penosa, os atletas são agraciados pelas belas paisagens no caminho. A resistência, sem sombra de dúvida, destaca-se como fundamental nas disputas de corrida e contrarrelógio.

Em 31 de maio de 1868, a modalidade foi a primeira a ser disputada na história do ciclismo, que apesar de acontecer em Paris, no parque Saint Cloud, quem venceu foi um britânico chamado James Moore. Conquistando novamente, um ano após, um tempo de 10h25, por um percurso entre as cidades de Paris e Rouen, calculando 123km de pedaladas.
