Named Data Networking (NDN) is a premium architecture for delivering content over the Internet. With the explosive growth of video streaming transmissions over the Internet of Things (IoT / IoV) and the large amount of data traffic in the future, evolving Wi-Fi networks will play a key role in such ecosystems. However, native NDN delivery over wireless networks may not work well. Wi-Fi broadcast / multicast uses a basic service mode, which reduces throughput. Despite the recent early work on this topic, more research and suggestions are needed to promote the adoption of native NDNs. He argues that the first step in designing a viable native NDN on a wireless network is to understand the challenges of the new scenario and provide a consistent foundation for comparing and driving proposals. To that end, we first highlight some challenges and directions for improving throughput and power efficiency, and reducing processing overhead and security issues. Next, we propose a variant of NDN that minimizes identified issues by performing transmissions via unicast to avoid storms on wireless networks. Finally, a performance evaluation was performed to compare the standard native NDN with the Wi-Fi 6 vehicle network proposal. The results show that in the evaluated scenario, our proposal exceeded the standard NDN, achieved a value close to 89% of the fulfilled requests, and reached more than 200% of the received data than the standard NDN. is showing.
