Recently natural disasters have been increased because of global warming. In the article, "U.S. storm kills 21, tornado roars through Mississippi city”, published in the Chicago Tribune, by Robbie WardReuters, he explains that this phenomenon is a natural event and the government cannot control them. However, the government must develop a new system that is capable of monitoring tornadoes, detects tornadoes before they make land fall, and provide places that are built to withstand a tornado when they come.
In this article, WardReuters told about the damage made by the tornado in Mississippi, where one person died and many people were injured. Because of this, they should develop a new system to monitor when the tornadoes are coming. If they could monitor the tornado with more precision, they could save more lives.
Tornadoes are a very common problem in the U.S. and according to the article, the National Weather Service said the tornado that happened in Mississippi destroyed many places such as homes and businesses. Therefore, I think that should be developed a system that monitors the tornadoes, could detect the likelihood of them happen, this system would help to warn people and save lives.
I believe another important thing is to build places to withstand tornadoes and that could house many people when the tornado happens. Because according the passage " Governor Beebe recounted how one woman died when the door of her home's reinforced safe room collapsed, while a father and three daughters survived by seeking shelter in a bathtub that was flipper over in winds that leveled the house", we can see the importance of this act.
In spite of all, in the article, we can see that the government seems to care about making improvements.
