As the theme of our presentation is the economy of angola we tought that the  currency converts of angola was na essential topic, since is one of the boost of the Angola’s economy. In 1999 a new currency was introduced in Angola, named kwanza beccoming the official currency of the country. The introduction of this currency saw the reintroduction of coins.
Just some curiosities: the currency code for kwanza is AOA and the currency code is Kz. Also the top AOA conversion is the EUR/AOA

In this slide you can see the currency converts USD/AOA, (unitted sates dollar) where one dollar equals 107.3490 kwanzas, UER/AOA, (eurozone) where 500€ equals 117.2210 kwanzas anda GBP/AOA, (great britain) where 50 pounds equals 165.4770 kwanzas.

In recent years the angolan economy has been one of the fastest growing int the world, and this trend has been reflected by the ever-increasing number of expats relocating to angola. However expats should should not forget that the cost of living is higher in Angola than in any other African country.

As i have already pointed out the USD/AOA is one of the most signifcante AOA conversion. The USDAOA spot exchange rate specifies how much one currency, the USD, is currently worth in terms of the other, the AOA.
Now i would like to draw your attention to the graph in the slide showing the exchange rate evolution between april the 1st of 2014 and january the 1st of 2015. 

You can see in the graph that from april the 1st to july the 1st  the evolution of the exchange rate remained stable,  and after you will notice that the exchange rate experienced an upward trend reaching a peak in april the 1st of 2015. however if we look more closely to the graph we notice that the line fluctuated a lot in that gap of time, but remained a positive grow in all time 

The economy of Angola, an overview

In this assignment we were asked to choose a topic that was related to our degree. Therefore we thought that the economy of Angola and all the topics associated with it were an interesting topic to discuss. Consequently we decided to point out the profile of the country, the price and importance of crude oil and the official currency, since these four themes were essential to the discussion.

To start with, the official currency of Angola, named Kwanza, took priority in the subjects to outline, since it is the foundation of the Angolan’s market. This currency was introduced in 1999, and implemented the use of coins once more. This currency has a wide importance in the exchange market of currency. We analyzed the currency converts of the united states dollar (USD), the great Britain converts (GBP) and the Eurozone converts (UER), being the EUR/AOA the most important exchange to AOA conversion.

Secondly, we observed a graph, that showed the USD/AOA exchange rate evolution, were I pointed out the line fluctuations, and were it reach a peak (April 1st of 2015). After analyzing the graph we concluded that the USD/AOA exchange rate had a upward trend, which means a positive grow.

In conclusion, with this assignment we learned a lot more about the economy of Angola and the several reasons why it is growing (market of exchange). However we concluded that the cost of living in Angola is very high, beside the fast growing of Angolan’s economy (that is justified by the increasing number of exparts in the country).
