SWOT Analyses Subway

The SWOT Analyses is a tool used to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats related to a business, project or to personal development. Being aware of the market in which the business is in can support with both decision making and action planning. Moreover, the SWOT Analysis can help determine what the priorities are, help explore possibilities for new efforts and find solution to problems. But first, you have to understand the Internal and External factors of the organisation. Internal factors include resources and experiences, External factors are forces and facts that cannot be controlled. The Internal factors include Strengths and Weaknesses, and The External includes Opportunities and Threats.

• Strengths: Are positive characteristics which provide a significant advantage over the competitors.

• Weaknesses: Are negative characteristics which provide a significant disadvantage over the competitors.

• Opportunities: Are favourable conditions of the market, conditions that the company has no power over. By analysing strengths and opportunities the organisation can detect new business opportunities that are great for the company.

• Threats: They are unfavourable market conditions that arise.

By analysing these four characteristics it is possible to create strategies to achieve goals:

• Strengths and Opportunities: By identifying strengths the business can search for opportunities that match them.

• Weaknesses: By identifying weaknesses the business can search for solutions to minimize or end them

• Opportunities: By analysing opportunities the organisation can detect new business opportunities that are great for the company.

• Threats: By analysing threats the business can figure out ways to not be affected by them. Business can also try to foresee the threats and be prepared in case they arise.
