Scholarships
The CEW Scholarship Program for returning women students was established in 1970 to honor the academic performance and potential of women whose education has been interrupted and to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the admission of women to the University of Michigan.
Thanks to the generosity of individuals and foundations, CEW has awarded over 1,500 scholarships since 1970. CEW Scholarship Awards are invaluable, since they often mean the difference between completing a degree or not doing so for many students at the University of Michigan. Due to the generosity of donors, CEW was able to expand the program in 2008 to include additional scholarships for male and female students on the Ann Arbor campus.
Eligibility Criteria
CEW Scholarship applicants must be attending the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Flint, or Dearborn campuses) during the year for which the scholarship is awarded. Be certain to check the complete list of criteria before applying for a scholarship.
2014-2015 Scholarship Application
Applications for the 2014-2015 academic year are now closed. The application deadline was January, 31, 2014. Check back in the middle of November for the 2015-2016 application. If you have any questions, please contact Kristina Bee at cew-scholarships@umich.edu.
Applicants for the 2014-15 academic year:
The first selection committee will meet at the end of April. If your application does not make it to the second committee you will be notified by the second week in May. If your application does make it to the second commitee you will not hear from us. So "no news is good news" is really the case!
The second selection committee will meet at the end of May. You will hear from us if you have been selected a CEW scholar or not by the middle of June.
Thank you for your patience. We understand that waiting can be difficult. We review your applications in their entirety and therefore the process is time consuming.
