ABSTRACT
Based on the Diagnostic and Statistics Manual for Mental Disorders-DSM V (APA, 2013), the subject with ASD in his / her characteristics presents a compromised or evidently abnormal development of social insertion and communication. This study is part of an ongoing research that aims to analyze the learning and social interaction of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder-TEA conducted with teachers who work in Elementary School I in public schools in the city of Caucaia-CE. The choice for the theme occurred due to the interest in unveiling the feelings experienced by the teacher when dealing with the autistic student. The study is a qualitative research, it also constitutes as an empirical field two schools of the municipal network in the municipality of Caucaia - CE. The interviewed subjects were ten teachers from the 1st to the 5th year of Elementary School I, through a semi-structured questionnaire. The theoretical basis is based on the assumptions of Rocha (2016), Brito (2007), Mercadante (2009), APA (2013) among others that emphasize the theme. Through the partial results it was possible to identify that in relation to the student's learning and social interaction with ASD, teachers seek to stimulate the student through sensory stimuli, in the face of social interaction they seek to provide opportunities where students with ASD can interact with other colleagues. The conclusion is that it is up to the teacher to encourage the student to learn and expect the same positive result, but not reaching the expected results, it is possible that there is a need to seek new means and new strategies.
