Projeto de Extensão

Disciplina: Língua Inglesa

Tema: Meio Ambiente

Carga horária: 3h-a

Público-alvo: alunos de Ensino Médio

Introdução

Abordaremos o tema “Meio Ambiente”, onde vamos destacar a importância da preservação dos recursos naturais do nosso planeta. Portanto, utilizaremos os métodos necessário para que os alunos compreendam a urgência da situação, e o quanto é importante a mudança de postura.  

Justificativa

Apesar da consciência dos números alarmantes de poluentes no meio ambiente poucas pessoas adotam uma atitude.

Objetivos

Desejamos demostrar que uma pessoa pode incentivar outra, mudando seus hábitos que são prejudicais ao meio ambiente. Queremos também ressaltar os benefícios que está prática traz a todos os seres vivos e o quanto pode ser agravante quando não fazemos nossa parte.

Despertar o senso crítico do aluno.

Metodologia

Vamos dividir a sala em grupos de no mínimo 4 e no máximo 6 pessoas, dessa forma economizamos material além de facilitar no dinamismo. Trabalhando com a ideia de que cada aula seja de aproximadamente 50 minutos:

1º aula → Leitura de três textos

2º aula → Debate sobre os textos e exercícios de assimilação

3º aula → Jogos

Necessities of Life

Human beings need food, water, and air, which are all necessary for survival. People cannot live without food to eat and oxygen to breathe. When it is cold, they need heat, clothes, and places to live. The environment provides these needs.

            Since 1850, both the population and industry have increased very rapidly. This is changing the environment quickly. Some of these changes are harmful because they disturb the balance of nature. Pollution is a harmful change that disturbs the environment.

            There are several kinds of pollution: air, water, and land.

            Industry causes air pollution. Factories put many chemicals and gases into the air. Gases from cars also cause air pollution, especially in cities.

            Chemicals also cause land and water pollution. Farmers use insecticides to kill insects that eat their plants. These poisonous chemicals go into the land and water nearby.  In addition the polluted water kills many plants and animals.

            Life on earth depends on the environment. There must be enough oxygen in the air. There must be clean water and enough food. Human beings, as well as plants and animals, need these things to survive.

Conservation

Ecology is the study of human beings and their environment. The natural environment includes all natural resources that are necessary for life: the air, the oceans, the sun, and the land. Because they are vital for life, these resources must be protected from pollution and conserved. Ecologists study their importance and how to use them carefully.  

Ecologists often divide resources into two groups: renewable and nonrenewable.  For example, grass from pasturelands for animals is a renewable resource. Solar energy, air and water are usually called renewable resources because there is an unlimited supply. However this may change if people are careful with these resources.

Some minerals and fuels are nonrenewable resources. Many resources are limited and nonrenewable, and many resources are in danger from pollution. As a consequence, resources must be conserved and the environment protected. There are several ways to conserve resources. First, new sources must be found and used. For example, alternate sources of energy can be developed. Second, new uses for old resources can be found.  Third, no resources should be wasted. Last, may resources can be recycled. Recycling uses the same material over and over again.

Environmental pollution is a serious problem. Every person must think of the environment as a personal resource. Each person must protect the environment and use it carefully for the future. Conservation must become and important part of everyone´s life.
