Read the text THE TITANIC DISASTER and answer the questions. Total=5 marks

The British passenger liner the Titanic sank on the night of Sunday, 14th of April 1912, while it was sailing from Southampton to New York on its maiden voyage. The ship, considered unsinkable, was the largest and most luxurious passenger ship of its time. It was crossing the Atlantic on a route further north than the usual one and was travelling at a speed of 22 knots (41 km per hour). Just before midnight it struck an iceberg, which cut a hole 100 m long in the ship. At the time of the disaster, many of the first-class passengers were celebrating their arrival in New York the following day. However, not all passengers were very rich. The majority of the third-class passengers were poor emigrants, many of them Irish, who were going to America to look for work and a better life. Of the 2, 224 passengers and crew who were travelling on the Titanic, 1,513 lost their lives. It was the greatest ship disaster of all time.
